Marker Costumes

We visited the Zuiderzeemuseum today, and little Miss T. dressed up as a little girl from Marken. She enjoyed walking on wooden shoes so much, that she bought a pair with her own money and walked on them for the rest of the day.

There was a lovely exhibition of Marker costumes in the museum. The colours and textiles are so great, I just had to share them... G.

A very early Christmas...

At first R. didn't like the fabric very much, but now the dress is finished she liked it a bit better. I'll be sure to take her with me to the next Stoffenspektakel. The dress will have to hang in the closet for a while, it's to be for Christmas.... G.

Finished mini-sampler

Our friend A. made this lovely sampler-kit. She even included the frame. Thanks, A., I had so much fun making this mini-sampler. Please design some more! G.

Last of the summer dresses

This was my last summer fabric of the Stoffenspektakel, I turned it into a dress from the Burda. I hadn't finished it during the summerholidays, because I needed help with the strings from my sewing teacher. G.

Preparations for Smuggling
I've cheated a bit this month. I made these blocks during the summer holiday and saved them for September. My sewing lessons start next week and I want to focus on clothes for the girls now, so I've thrown my CWDQ book in de corner for the time being. G.

New Fabric

Last Friday the girls from the sewingclub and I went to Uithoorn to find new fabrics for the new series of sewinglessons. I bought this velvet for R. and plan to make it into the skirt on the picture. G.

Fabric stash

I'm working through my fabric stash, waiting for the new winter fabrics at the Stoffenspektakel in October. I bought this stripe last year, all in R.'s favourite colours. G.
