Kerstornamentje

Dit is ons gezamenlijke borduurpatroontje van A., M. en mij. We gaan alvast een kerstornamentje maken. A. heeft heel mooie boeken vol kerstpatronen en daar hebben we dit suikerzoete engeltje uitgehaald. Het is echt een verslavend patroontje, als je eenmaal begint, kun je niet meer ophouden. G.

Kerstworkshop

Vorige week hebben M., A. en ik een kerstborduurworkshop gevolgd bij "de Handwerkboetiek" in Roden. (ik dacht dat het in Groningen was, maar blijkbaar waren we in Drenthe... domdomdom). Het was wel even heeeeel vroeg opstaan en heeeel lang rijden, maar het was supergezellig, en wat een enorm leuke winkel! Ik heb een schitterende borduurstof gekocht en weer allerlei leuke ideetjes opgedaan. Heerlijk. We hebben dit bandje om het stolpje geborduurd en nog een extra bandje meegekregen wat in een hartje past, dus dat komt ook vast nog wel eens voorbij op de blog. G.

Voortgang

Ik ben lekker bezig aan mijn kerstborduurtje. Het bovenstuk is af en nu kan ik aan de regels beginnen. Mijn eerste is: Be kind and of good cheer... Daar kunnen we altijd wat mee. G.

Borduurwerk af!

De meetlat voor Isara is eindelijk af, het arme kind is al weer een half jaar oud, maar dat heb je als je te laat begint. Dus nu maar gewacht op de welkomsceremonie. G.

Borduurwerkje

Voor de Eerste Heilige Communie van little Miss T. heb ik, behalve een mooie jurk, ook een borduurwerkje gemaakt. Dit keer geen eigen ontwerp, maar een kant en klaar pakket, waar ik dan nog wel wat tekst aan heb toegevoegd. G.

Verjaardagskado

Van mijn schoonouders mocht ik voor mijn verjaardag een borduurpatroon met garens bestellen. Voor het eerst in maanden was ik weer aan het neuzen op de site van Stitching bits and bobs, genieten! Het is dit borduurpatroon geworden met Christmas Rules van Lizzie & Kate. Alle regels kunnen onder elkaar geborduurd worden tot een heel leuk kerstlapje. Vooral de garens zijn echt schitterend. Gelukkig heb ik nog wel even voor het kerst is! Schoonmama en papa, bedankt!! G.

Nieuwe projecten?

Waarom zijn er de laatste tijd niet veel jurkjes gemaakt? Dit is het lieve oorzaakje: baby Isara.

Haar moeder wilde graag een borduurwerkje mee feeën op haar kamertje, dus ging ik aan de slag. Ik was alleen vergeten dat mijn schoonmoeder 6 maanden over een groeimeter borduren deed, dus ik vrees dat Isara nog eventjes moet wachten op haar kadootje...

Want zoals je ziet is er nog erg veel wit op de lap te zien.... Maar tijdens de meivakantie ben ik in elk geval weer een flink eind opgeschoten, en gelukkig is er vanavond weer een fijn dansprogramma op tv en kan ik lekker verder werken. G.

Finished mini-sampler

Our friend A. made this lovely sampler-kit. She even included the frame. Thanks, A., I had so much fun making this mini-sampler. Please design some more! G.

Gingerbread Men

I wanted to show my gingerbread men at our cross-stitch club "de drie steekjes", but unfortunately we couldn't get together on Friday (I had saved exactly three stitches for that evening!), so here it is. These guys were so much fun to make, I'm almost sad that they're finished. G.

Pakketje

Zodat ik nog even door kan blijven borduren heb ik dit leuke pakketje van onze lieve vriendin A. gekocht. (zie haar website: www.quiltsalon.nl) We hebben gisteravond weer een heel gezellige avond gehad met onze borduurclub "De Drie Steekjes", en ja, we hebben onze drie steken weer gezet... G.

Eindelijk weer aan het borduren...

Ik heb een tijdlang niet geborduurd omdat ik geen echt leuk project meer had. En gelukkig was daar M. die nog een leuk patroontje had liggen... En ik ben weer heerlijk aan de slag gegaan. Bedankt, M. G.

Measuring tape

Our friend A. gave us the pattern for this measuring tape holder (is this even a word, please, M. I need some help here..) She even made a complete package of it, with floss, charm and beads. It is so very cute and I had so much fun making it! I spent some delightful nights on the couch working on this lovely project. Thanks A. !! G.

Baby Remco

Baby Sister started this cross-stitch pattern over two years ago, but never finished it. So when she was expecting her baby, she asked me to finish it. (It has to be said, that she did the most difficult parts of the pattern and left the easy ones for me!)

And here he is, my cute little nephew, Remco. A gorgeous little boy. Such a shame he lives over 500 kilometres away from his adoring aunt.

Seasonal Blessings Finished

I've finished the cross-stitching of the "Seasonal Blessings". It was M.'s idea to turn it into a little quilt. One with a yellow gingham for Roma and one with a purple gingham for little Miss T. This one is for Roma, I made a little yellow hart in "summer". ( the original heart was in the shape of the american flag...) G.

A Long Time Ago...

... I thought cross-stitch was far too difficult for me. Then I made some small Christmas chair ornments and I was hooked. This was probably my first attempt at something larger. I made it for my husband's uncle and aunt. I had never taken a digital picture of it, so we were visiting them now and I took my chance to put this one on the blog. G

Holiday

I've been away for two weeks for a holiday to Germany. I didn't do as much "kreuz-stich"as I had hope to, but I made some progress with the Seasonal Blessings sampler.
Last year I saw some old sewingmachines in museums, but I really had to search for one this time. Here's an old Pfaff machine in the "Freilichtmuseum" in Konz.
M. is making the same sampler as I am, and is going to give it to her customer Little Miss T. She had a great idea of turning it into a little wall hanger quilt with our gingham fabric leftover of the quilts for the girls. It's quite fun doing some cross stitch again, especially now that M. has given me a whole new series of McLeod's Daughters to watch.... G.

Bib

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation for a "baby shower" for the new baby of my friend from uni. I haven't seen her for quite some time, so I wanted to go. But then the rest of the family had other engagements and I can't make it. I felt so guilty, I cross-stitched this bib for the baby, that has the name of one of our favourite characters in "McLeods' Daughters". G.

Another Finish

It's so great to make these small cross-stitch projects, they're so quickly finished!! Quite a relief from my sampler (of which M. had the first preview!!). Now the hardest work is yet to come... the framing! G.

Golden Oldies

I finally found the pictures my dad made for me ages ago! Speaking of ages ago, I made the "Twelve Days of Christmas" for my mother, two Christmasses ago (??). It´s one of our family´s favourite Christmas songs, and we love to shout it louder and louder, whilst my sister is playing the piano faster and faster!

This one is truly a golden oldie!! It´s one of my first cross stitch projects, which I started somewhere in January, hoping I would finish it before Mother´s Day! Needless to say, I was finished quite in time!! M. made one for me, and helped me with the tassle and cord around it. G.
