These two blocks we added to our homework because they were pieced. Poor M., she could have made the block quite quick if she had read the instructions from our teacher. For I.'s information: to calculate the size of the blocks add 1.25 inch to the long side of the triangle. The squares should measure 4,25 inch. G.

My first two paper piecing blocks of our Civil War homework. Having some trouble shooting pictures, so I tried to do it outside. I forgot the polder-winds... they had me running trough the garden chasing my blocks... G.

Scissor Case

Last night we had a great time at I.'s house. She made us a delicious carrot cake and we even managed to finish this scissor case made from selvedges. The package was a gift of quiltshop The Sampler. The button is made from a cent (of course a Queen Juliana one) and I used the selvedges from my own Dutch fabric stash, including the one we bought in Enschede at a quilt exhibition some time ago. You can see Twentse Welle, the name of the museum in one of them. Last night I was very happy with it, but I'm not so happy with the finishing.... Too bad. G.

The right size... quite an achievement today... Luckily I also finished my skirt and cut the pattern for my new dress. Otherwise this weekend would have been a complete waste - craft-wise.

These pyjamas were really fun to make. Nice and easy, what a difference from an evening dress, ha ha! G.

As tradition goes G. told me I could not cross stitch this one myself... I cross stitched one for G. a couple of years ago and we each made one for our mothers. So now G. made one for me. I love it!

I had planned to put it out on display during the Christmas period only... but it is way too pretty!

A Long Time Ago...

... I thought cross-stitch was far too difficult for me. Then I made some small Christmas chair ornments and I was hooked. This was probably my first attempt at something larger. I made it for my husband's uncle and aunt. I had never taken a digital picture of it, so we were visiting them now and I took my chance to put this one on the blog. G

Needlebooklets

We missed the Make-it-and-take-it session at quiltshop "De Sampler" in Haarlem this time, but our friend A. gave us the paperpiecing pattern and the material needed to make this needle-booklet with the new logo of "De Sampler". We hadn't seen our quilt-mate I. for some time due to illness. She was all well now and we had so much fun last night. It turned out to be quite difficult, but M. and I. finished it in two hours. It took me a bit longer, of course, having to rip out several seams, but finished it is! Thanks A.! G. (The blue one is M.'s, the pink one is I.'s, are we surprised? well, no....)

Baptism. I thought the diary entry was about a baby being baptised, but it turned out to be a girl of 15.... Well, they like pink cuddly sheep too... I hope
