Finally something I made for myself that I can wear right now (well, not exactly right now, because it is so hot outside) all my other creations have to wait for my sister's wedding in September. G.

Hollywood Glamour Sweat Shop Part Two

The road to Hollywood Glamour is a bumpy one, especially if you aren't careful with the hot iron. But didn't it all turn out just wonderful! You look great, M.!! A designer dress with designer (Mart Visser) shoes. G.

Not Purple ??!!

Little Miss T. was quite happy with her new skirt, though her first comment was: It isn't purple... G.

New Dress

After a fight with my overlocker, I could finally finish this dress for my daughter... I still don't know what I did wrong, but pulling all the treads out and putting a new needle in, eventually did the trick. Now I have to finish one skirt for Little Miss T. and I've used up all my Stoffenspektakel fabric....(for the girls that is..) G.

On This Day...

On this day a moment of reflection. Dear G., please pay attention. You have joint responsibility, accountability, even 'guilt' in this...

I have SIX (!!!) quilt tops in various stages of production/ design. And I only started quilting a little over a year ago.

The Six:
1. Triangle Traktatie: 15 blocks so far, the odd 80 left to do.
2. Cool Diamonds by Kaffe Fassett: bought the fabric
3. My version of the Red Courthouse Steps by Kaffe Fassett: need to bring the number of fatquarters I bought down to the number required...
4. Circle In The Square: got the fabric, finished 4 - haven't decided on number of blocks yet.
5. Quilt As I Go Logcabin: finished 14 of the 42 blocks.
6. Japanese Quilt: got the fabric. Decided on the design.

But I managed to finish ONE! And will hopefully finish another in the near future.

Dear G., as I will be on holiday when the workshop calendar is posted of the Autumn season, you have the burden of ensuring I do not start another quilt top before I finish at least TWO. So pick whichever workshop you like and I'll join (and pray the result will not be larger than a cushion).

I am hesitant to use the words... UFO's and stash...

Bib

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation for a "baby shower" for the new baby of my friend from uni. I haven't seen her for quite some time, so I wanted to go. But then the rest of the family had other engagements and I can't make it. I felt so guilty, I cross-stitched this bib for the baby, that has the name of one of our favourite characters in "McLeods' Daughters". G.

Purple Playdress

Little Miss T. only wanted to be in the picture if her purple balloon was photographed too. No problem at all... The Bizzkids fabric was a bit expensive, but the pattern so easy, that it cost me only a few days to make this one. I'm glad I left off the pockets and turned them into applique harts, it looks great this way. G.

Mystery Quilt 2008

I also joined a Mystery Quilt... feels like joining the marines... feels like being drafted. I love the colours and also the blocks for the first five months of the year. Japanese Inspiration

I found a lot of fabrics for my Japanese inspired quilt. I set out to find light colours... and I can safely say I succeeded. Top photo shows the fabrics I bought today... the next photo shows all fabrics that made the final cut. M.

Veldhoven - European Quilt Championships... Our Very First

Obviously we did not enter a quilt... Although G.'s were deemed beautiful and prize worthy. Not a lot of quilts we liked this time.

My First Trousers

Big Sister´s Holy Communion

Today was Big Sister´s big day! She was so very cute in her dress and smiled all day long... G.
