Biscornu

My camera had some problems focussing on this cross stitch project, so it took me a while to post it. Were M. and I. had it finished long before Christmas, I was just in time to hang it in the tree. Here's my second biscornu. And as it is Christmas Eve, I won't be spending much more time behind my sewing machine the next couple of days, so Merry Christmas! G.

Biscornu In Progress

Back from a long absence... got a severe warning this morning. This is our latest joint project. G., I. and myself are making a biscornu for our Christmas tree. It will be a yearly tradition to make one... we're all looking forward to having at least 40 of these...

Make it and take it

We didn't think we would be able to join in the "make it and take it"session of our friend A. at Irma's Sampler this Friday, but with some fast work we made it to Haarlem and back to the schoolyard in time to pick up the kids! Of course we bought some more Civil War fabrics. And I added the gadget for this course: the add a quarter-ruler... If you're wondering whatever that thing in the picture is.. It is a biscornu (check our christmas ornaments posts!) This one is to be used as a pincushion. We had to make it by hand, but I ripped out everthing at home.. my stiches were so bad, there wasn't a sharp corner to be seen. I should leave it to my Pfaff to make it. G.

Biscornu...

Ok... I guess it is my turn to show some pictures. I am working on a biscornu... that I started on a trip to Chicago in February (one colour... easier to take on a plane and stitch while being squashed in a small seat).

The end result will hopefully turn out like the red one I finished last year - finished as an ornament. Both ornaments are from the Ackworth School Pattern Book. Also could not resist showing off my new scissors...
